Shanin Thomas is the co-founder of an independent equity research firm. An engineer graduate, Shanin has been into the Financial Services industry for around 5 years. He has done his NISM Certification and is also registered for Level 3 of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program. During his corporate experience with TresVista Financial Services and J P Morgan, he was an advisory to Investment Banks, PE firms based out of US& UK. Mr. Rajagopal is an experienced trainer in Forex Markets, Forex Bourse Games (Dealing Room Operations) and Technical Analysis. Prior to teaching, he was the Head of Forex Dealing Room in Kotak Mahindra Bank & ICICI Bank. During this time, he was responsible for offloading customer inward and outward remittances in the FX interbank market, trading in currencies like the USD, INR, EUR, GBP, JPY, CHF, AUD, integrating the bank’s FX and local money desk operations in order to augment bank’s fund resources. He is an expert in providing currency forecast using Fundamental and Technical Analyses to enable them to take suitable hedges for their international exposures. His expert views have also been featured several times in the media. Mr. Raja is an M. Phil in Social Science and a double post-graduate in Physics from Delhi University and Columbia University (U.S.A). He has a post-graduate degree in Rural Development Planning from the University of East Anglia (U.K.). As an IAS officer of the Maharashtra cadre, he has worked in various assignments at the District, State and Centre level. At the State level, besides holding positions in Finance and Urban Development, he has served as Secretary in the Departments of Trade & Commerce, Housing & Special Assistance, Higher & Technical Education and Water Supply and Sanitation. While on deputation to the Government of India, he has held responsible posts in the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Planning Commission and the Ministry of Defence. He has authored several books and publications on Zero Base Budgeting, State Finances and Economic Reforms. He has made important contributions to administrative reforms in Maharashtra while working as Collector of Satara and as Transport Commissioner. In recognition of his outstanding contribution to Public Administration, Shri Raja was awarded the P.J. Chinmulgund Distinguished Government Administration Award. Since the year 2000, he has been with the Department of Atomic Energy as Jt. Secretary, Additional Secretary and thereafter as Principal Advisor in the pay of Secretary to Government of India. He retired from Government service in 2008 and has been ppointed as Chairman of MERC. Balkrishna Parab Balkrishna Parab is the Indian Merchants’ Chamber’s Professor of Banking and Finance at the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies in the University of Mumbai. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and an Associate of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. Prof. Parab has been Chairman of the Board of Studies in Banking and Finance at the University of Mumbai and a member of the university’s Academic Council. He has over twenty years’ teaching experience in total, 12 years of which is at the postgraduate level. He has been a member of the visiting faculty at the IIT, Bombay, the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) and the CRISIL Certified Analyst Programme. Prof. Parab has conducted corporate training programmes for several companies, including Essar Steel Limited (Hazira), Essar Services Limited (Mumbai), Mazgaon Docks (Mumbai) and Reliance Infrastructure Limited.
